8 Hotly-Anticipated 2018 Video Games (That Will Get Delayed)

1. Anthem

Anthem Game
Bioware

Anthem is a huge departure for the developers at Bioware. While the studio has been moving away from conventional RPGs and closer to straight action titles for a while now, Anthem solidified that shift in design with an explosive trailer at E3 2017.

Despite how far along the game looks though, a quick glance at the development history paints a rather worrying picture. Before Anthem existed, the team at Bioware were actually working on another multiplayer game which eventually got canned, with a some of the assets being transferred over to this new project.

Cancelling a game is a pretty big deal, and it's clear that Anthem is an incredibly ambitious title, with the devs attempting to merge the expansive world building and narratives they're known for with a deep multiplayer third-person shooter. That's not the type of project you can slap together in a couple of years.

Since its first announcement both EA and Bioware haven't said much about the upcoming game, and there's a good chance that when they do finally show off something else, it will be bookended with an announcement of a new 2019 release window.
