Things don't tend to get much darker than when horrific real-life events work their way into our digital media, especially when said real-life event was the murder of a Russian politician.

In a move that baffled nearly everyone who spotted it, the body of Andrei Karlov, who was shot in front of the media at an art gallery opening in 2016 appeared to have been used in still image form for a background shot in Episode 2 of Telltale's Batman series. The body had been cropped out of the real-life setting and placed against the background of a Gotham vault that had been robbed.

For many, they'd have never noticed the real-life body being presented to them, but soon enough a sharp-eyed player called BroTeamPill spotted the horrendous secret and called out the developers.

A patch was soon issued for the game which reframed the scene, essentially confirming the accusation to be true, and makes for a horrifying secret that was right under our noses.

It's unclear why this image was used in the first place, but one thing is for sure, it was an incredibly dark moment once you realized what was going on.
