8 Incredibly Dark Video Game Secrets You Wish You Never Found
2. A Child Graveyard - SWAT 4
When your franchise deals with busting up those looking to destroy and disrupt society with violent means, the SWAT series of games is already in a pretty moody shade of dark at the best of times, however, in SWAT 4 things take a decidedly dark turn should players venture off the beaten path in the games ninth mission.
Here the team is tasked with dismantling a cult that has managed to acquire enough explosives to destroy their squatter's church as well as the surrounding city block in the hopes of ascending to the great beyond. As you step foot into the rancid-looking area, you'll hear the scraping of those within ready to defend their crooked faith with zealous fury.
Room after room, hall after hall, the tension grows and grows as you try to keep this powder keg from quite literally exploding. Yet deep within the basement of this complex lays the group's most devastating secret, for if you venture down and away from where the main mission tells you, you'll uncover a mass grave filled with the bodies of the children of the cult.
To call this dark is to call Everest a bit of a walk, a true understatement if ever there was one.
