4. Ni No Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom
When it's out: March 23
What it is: The long-awaited follow-up to a critically-acclaimed PS3 classic. Set centuries after the original, Revenant Kingdoms casts players in the role of one Evan Pettiwhisker Tildrum (yes, really), a deposed boy king of the cat tribe who sets out to reclaim his throne from a band of traitorous mice.
It all sounds so wonderfully Ghiblian, but sadly, the famed Japanese version of Disney isn't renewing its collaborative partnership with Level-5 for the sequel. Yoshiyuki Momose and Joe Hisaishi, character designer and composer for Ghibli respectively, reprise their roles from the original, however, so all's not lost.
With the addition of kingdom building and micromanagement to compliment Revenant Kingdom's real-time combat, expect a whole lot more gameplay depth to go along with Revenant Kingdom's sure to be whimsical narrative and lauded visuals.
