8 Popular Nintendo Wii U Games (And Whether They Deserve Switch Ports)

5. Sonic Boom: Rise Of Lyric

Sega

Should it be allowed on the Switch: No

Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric is arguably one of the worst Sonic games ever, and since 75% of Sonic games are abysmal that's actually quite the achievement.

Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric was part of a three-game agreement between Sega and Nintendo to make three Sonic games exclusive to the Wii U.

These were this, Sonic Lost World, and Mario & Sonic at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games. Sonic Lost World was eventually given a PC port leaving Mario & Sonic at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games and Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric stranded on the Wii U.

Whilst the Sochi 2014 Olympic Games can't exactly be called relevant there's still probably a higher chance of a Switch port of that game over a Switch port of Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric.

Every mainline Sonic game sold more than Rise of Lyric and its sister game Sonic Boom: Shattered Crystal combined. Whilst you'd definitely get a few people buying it for the Switch just to see what the fuss was about, it's unlikely that a port of this game would even make its money back.
