8 Things Nobody Wants To Admit About Battlefield 1
2. Saving Key Armies For DLC Is Pretty Shady
We've all come to expect some pretty dodgy DLC practices in recent years, but initially it seemed as though Battlefield 1 wasn't going to be too big of an offender. Sure, it had a ridiculously overpriced Season Pass that was being sold without letting anyone know what was actually in the damn thing, but at least they weren't selling in-game Battlepacks for real life money.
Well, as of the recent update, now they are, which combined with other revelations, has made me reconsider DICE's DLC approach entirely. With information coming through that the developers are planning to include new factions in the game alongside new maps based on their countries, you've got to wonder why the likes of France were left out in the first place.
It's just not cool: keeping back core armies that everyone with even the slightest knowledge of WW1 would expect to see is such a cheap way to get players to pony up for the season pass in advance.
Sure, it was great of the developers to shine a light on some of the more obscure battalions that took part in The Great War 100 years ago, but these should have been in there alongside the likes of France from the get-go, not replacing them so that we'll have to pay up later.
