8 Times The Internet Lied To You About Your Childhood Pokemon Cards

3. Dark Raichu - Team Rocket

This card is easily one of the most confusing cards out there. Released in April 2000 in the Team Rocket expansion Dark Raichu is one of the first pictures to appear when you google the set.

Every pokemon card has a number in the lower right hand corner indicating how many cards are contained in the set and dictating where each card falls within the set. In the American and European releases, this is done alphabetically but strangely enough, Dark Raichu is numbered 83/82.

Wait, surely that cannot be right? Turns out, ladies and gentlemen it is right, Dark Raichu was a secret inclusion in the set and could only be found as a holo foil. This has lead various sources to easily bamboozle everyone in believing the card is worth hundreds.

To Dark Raichu's credit, it remains one of the most expensive cards in the series setting you back around £25 for a Near Mint copy but nowhere near the hundreds of pounds, certain sites claim.
