8 Times You Lost Thanks To A Video Game Cutscene

After all of the absolutely insane things you've witnessed come Vanquish's closing act, the player, under the guise of Sam Gideon, is going to be champing at the bit to take on Victor Zaitsev, the Russian mastermind behind all the weaponization of a solar-powered platform.

As you slide, grind and unleash every bullet in existence, you eke closer to the confrontation, and when two superpowered battle suits drop down and Victor calls you to dance, it's a palpable moment. It's an incredibly tough battle to balance both Victor and another suit as both will try to get up close and personal at every chance possible.

However, through sheer willpower and screaming every B-movie one-liner possible, you make it through, only to find out that NEITHER battle suit was actually Victor and he's already left the space station. OK then...

While you might have won the battle, you've definitely lost the war here as Victor returns home, his mission complete and you're left with empty platitudes and a future uncertain. Ouch.
