And so we end on not only a boss that couldn't take the bloody hint, but also one from a game that should have been laid to rest the moment that it entered development. The widespread hatred for Wrath of Cortex is pretty well known by now, and it's not without merit thanks to the insanely long loading times, terrible driving sections, schizophrenic parading of new ideas in a desperate attempt to see what sticks, and of course the weird decision to make all of the games boss battles focus on just one character, Crush Bandicoot.

Now on paper, there's a lot to like about Crush, seeing as he's pretty much the alternative to Crash himself. Where Crash a loveable but total failure when it comes to being a super soldier, Crush was the ideal that Cortex always wanted. However by making him so utterly bland and then insisting the player face him over and over, you can't help but grit your teeth upon beating him because you just know he'll be right back wielding another mask.

It doesn't help that the boss battles suffer from inconsistent development, with some being so easy that they're laughable and others so hard it's not even fun in the slightest. Still, at least Crush found his calling and turned to the side of good to settle in as a solid side character for years to come.
