8 Video Game Fan Theories So GOOD They Became Real
3. Jun Is Unknown - Tekken Tag Tournament 2
The original Tekken Tag Tournament introduced the mysterious character Unknown - the game's final boss in Arcade Mode who many fans swiftly theorised to be a secret alter-ego of one of the series' legacy characters, Jun Kazama.
This fan theory was built on some compelling evidence - firstly, that Unknown bears a noticeable physical resemblance to Jun, secondly that she mimics Jun's fighting style at the start of every battle, and finally that in Ogre's ending, Unknown shows up to stop Ogre consuming the soul of Jin Kazama, Jun's son.
Fans were left to stew on this for another 12 years before Namco would finally confirm it in Tekken Tag Tournament 2, where Arcade Mode's final boss initially appears to be Jun, but after being defeated in the first round she suddenly transforms into Unknown.
Now to be totally clear, the Tekken Tag Tournament series is generally accepted to be non-canon to the storyline of the main series, but accepted as its own quirky spin-off pocket dimension, it was still neat to see the original game's fan theory finally made fact in the sequel.
