8 Video Game Movie Adaptations That Were Better Than We Remember
2. The Lord Of The Rings: The Two Towers & The Return Of The King (PS2/XBOX)
Toys, posters, coffee cups and model figurines are one thing, but video game adaptations are a toss of the coin if they are going to be good or bad. While it doesn't harm the film if they're bad, it's often a complete waste of potential.
Thankfully for two The Lord of the Rings games, that was not the case. Players took on the role of iconic heroes and were dropped in the thick of some of the films' most iconic battle sequences.
In fact, The Two Towers incorporated events from The Fellowship of the Ring including the battle in the Mines of Moria and the Parth Galen fight at the end.
The player roams Middle Earth as either Aragorn, Legolas or Gimli and each have their own unique combinations, weaponry and style of fighting. A really impressive success for the games came in the form of the actual actors voicing their characters too, adding to the authenticity.
They are both fun exciting, and incorporating memorable battles from the films puts you in the thick of films. They're incredibly well made and worth a replay.
