8 Video Game Villains That Tricked You Into Helping Them

5. Dormin - Shadow Of The Colossus

I think everyone the world over felt their stomach lurch upon witnessing the closing moments of the almighty Shadow Of The Colossus as talk about a sombre tone shift!

In retrospect we probably should have always been wary of a mysterious deity housed in an area of the world in which we are forbidden to tread, and likely should have questioned why Wander is being hunted by the army in the opening of the game, but when faced with the task of ressurecting Mono, it's clear that the game is pushing us to rise to an insurmountable challenge for friendship or indeed love.

Thus we begin our quest to slay the Collosi in order to give power to Dormin who will bring Mono back from the dead, yet come the close of the story, it turns out that these massive beasts were in fact protecting the world from Dormins evil. Awakened and now inhabiting the body of Wander, we are left feeling the right fool for helping the main villain return to this world.

Thank you Shadow of The Collossus for teaching us never to follow our hearts.
