6. Resident Evil 3 Remake
After the enormous success of Capcom's Resident Evil 2 remake, fans naturally expected the same level of care and attention for the remake of Resident Evil 3: Nemesis.
But while the new take on Resident Evil 3 offered up solid visuals and superficial rollercoaster-ride thrills, it was also clearly rushed out by Capcom for a quick buck.
For one, large sections of the original game are missing entirely, the branching choices are gone, boss encounters and puzzles have been "streamlined," and Nemesis himself has a far more subdued presence overall.
The result is a rather half-baked "remake" that can be easily beaten in around five hours and doesn't get close to capturing the intense atmosphere of the original.
Resident Evil 2's remake was a perfect example of how to reinterpret a classic for a new generation while not being 100% faithful, but the new Resident Evil 3 just felt like Capcom couldn't really be bothered to do it full justice.
