8 Ways Video Games Make No Sense (And We Don't Care)
5. Agent 47 Could Never Blend In - Hitman
There's a fundamental contradiction at the core of the Hitman franchise, that assassin protagonist Agent 47 is a master of blending into crowds, assuming disguises, and basically moving through busy locales undetected... despite being one of the top-five most conspicuous, suspicious-looking dudes of all time.
The guy has a tattoo of a barcode on the back of his head for crying out loud - an incredibly distinctive feature that basically nobody is going to forget once they see it.
An assassin ideally needs to be totally bland and forgettable looking - a piece of the furniture you don't think much about. As such it's absolutely laughable that Agent 47 would stand out in basically any crowd you put him in.
It's much the same paradox as the Terminator franchise, where Arnold Schwarzenegger is such an ape of a human being that he's probably the last person you'd want an infiltration cyborg to look like. Just... why?
But in both Terminator and Hitman we get over it because they look so damn cool.
