8 Worst Things About Being A Gamer In 2016
4. Even Your Current Generation Console Is Already Outdated
A console generation is an enormous thing. It's the space of time during which specific games are available on specific consoles. Software is developed with that console generation in mind, and buying a "current generation" console means having the newest, most updated console hardware available.
Well, that's what it used to mean. Not anymore. Sure, there used to be occasional upgrades, like slim variants of consoles or slightly higher hard drive space. But now companies like Sony and Microsoft are trying to sell consumers beefed up consoles in the middle of a generation, like the PS4 Pro or Project Scorpio.
Yes, both claim there won't be any exclusives and that software will be developed for the base system first, but... can gamers really be sure? What do you expect them to say, "Your console is now obsolete?"
Even if it is true, it still sucks knowing that buying a "current generation" system no longer means you've necessarily got the best hardware on offer.
