8 Worst Video Games Of 2020 (So Far)

6. Bleeding Edge

Bleeding Edge
Ninja Theory

The latest lamb to the Overwatch slaughterhouse, the amount of bodies Blizzard's behemoth has slain is almost in the double digits. Save for Apex Legends and Valorant punching holes in the meta long enough to sustain a living, everything from Battleborn to Lawbreakers has been totally wiped out.

With that in mind, Bleeding Edge looked promising... until we realised it was another hero shooter. An incredibly varied character pool had the potential to be iconic as hell should anybody prove popular, but Ninja Theory's prowess as single player hack n' slash specialists just didn't translate online.

Where the mighty Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice and DmC: Devil May Cry were supplanted by great stories, characters and levels built to show off visually stunning combos with dynamic enemies chaining them together, Bleeding Edge never feels comfortable or even confident.

Instead, it feels like yet another great developer chasing a trend, over something that plays to their strengths. Bleeding Edge ends up as totally forgettable, and that's doubly notable as the game is free on Xbox Game Pass.
