8. Aliens Colonial Marines (With 2018 Patch)

From one disastrous launch to another, the start of the 2010s just couldn't catch a break.

Aliens: Colonial Marines - despite being arguably the most hyped Aliens game ever - had one simple job: Just be a serviceable shooter. It really shouldn't be that hard to take down some Xenomorphs with chunky weapons. Alien Trilogy was nailing it back in 1996 on the PS1.

Sadly we all know the story: The game was just a bug-ridden mess, that we'd later find out was the result of a terrible development period.

Thankfully though - and testament to just how much was unfinished - fans discovered in 2018 that if they dove into the game's code and altered one digit, the Xenomorph A.I. was drastically improved.

Play Colonial Marines on PC today with this 2018 fix, and sure it's not going to win any awards, but you can get away from tap-dancing Xenos or others freezing in place when you try to engage.

Sadly there's nothing that can be done about the voice acting, though.
