6. Dying Light

Are we not sick of zombies yet? How about parkour-performing, Mirror's Edge traversal? Thought not. It's a weird balancing act for sure, but for those of us who just can't get enough of bashing some undead brains in, along with scarpering away and leaving traps along the way, Dying Light seems to have you covered. Techland are the guys that were behind that phenomenal Dead Island trailer back in 2011, and upon revisiting this undead theme they must have faith in, are whacking you down in the middle of a huge open-world that dynamically generates mission goals and objectives as you move through it. Featuring tried n' true zombie-dispatching methods such as lighting oil slicks on fire and decapitation by way of rather large machetes, Dead Island's elongated King Leonidas-style "This is SPAH-TAH!" kick is also making a return, allowing you to boot some enemies away before darting up a telephone pole for the escape. This looks like it's going to play like what what we imagined Glen was always up to throughout the first season of The Walking Dead, making supply drops and delivering messages whilst dodging the outstretched arms of a horde of slack-jawed walkers in the process.
