9 Huge Video Games You Forgot Were Coming In 2019
3. Days Gone
Release date: April 26, 2019
At this point, Days Gone feels much like an afterthought meant to keep PS4 owners engaged before Sony sounds the console's death knell in favour of shiny new hardware, but it needn't be that way. Yes, the numerous delays have somewhat put a dampener on what little enthusiasm there's been for Days Gone (the pop culture cash cow that is the drooling undead has long since been milked to death), but all any tired sub-genre needs for a new lease on life is a fresh perspective.
Days Gone could prove to be the kick up the arse it needs for a second wind. All Sony needs to do to ensure Days Gone has a chance is take some time out from masterminding the PS5 to promote the game's freeform, non-linear structure, as well as the platter of activities Deacon St. John can engage in, besides mindless zombie slaughter.
We'll see what the reality is, come spring next year, but right now, a dose of cautious optimism can't hurt. Fingers crossed Days Gone doesn't end up going the same way as Crackdown 3.
