9 Hugely-Anticipated Video Games Still To Come In 2018

1. Spider-Man

Tomb Raider
Insomniac Games

Following what feels like an infinite loop of origin story, sequel and reboot for New York's web-slinging protector on the big screen, Insomniac Games has made the wise decision to sidestep yet another retread by kicking off its virgin attempt at a licensed game with a seasoned Spidey that's already well-versed in the superhero business. Perfect.

With that refreshing premise confirmed, fluff involving Parker's school years, the death of dear old Uncle Ben and the creation of his alter ego can be ignored. In fact, Insomniac's tale is wholly original, borrowing nothing - other than the characters - from the source material, so the unexpected is to be expected.

Last year's gameplay footage at E3, combines with Insomniac's mechanically excellent-yet-shallow Sunset Overdrive assures us that it knows exactly how to make an authentic-feeling Spider-Man title, but above all else, it's passion for the franchise is clear as day.

As any member of Rocksteady can surely attest to, that's the most important quality when it comes to doing beloved comic book characters justice. The Arkham series is all the proof one needs to see that.
