9 Hugely Anticipated Video Games That Disappeared Overnight
2. Pirates Of The Caribbean: Armada Of The Damned
Y'know what was a really cool game that no one talks about? 2008's Turok. Pinning dudes to walls with a well-placed arrow, stealth kills and dinosaurs - it was a blast.
I mention this, because the ill-fated Propaganda Games were done DIRTY by Disney immediately after. With Turok's sales showing promise, Propaganda started work on both Tron: Legacy's tie-in (another solid enough movie game I'd totally recommend), and Pirates of the Caribbean: Armada of the Damned.
Interestingly, the latter was only set in the world of the Pirates movies, but tested very well with audiences, showing a hybrid of boat combat and sword combos back on land. Pirates of the Caribbean fans still bring Armada up to this day, simply because of how promising all this looked.
Sadly, despite a solid sense of momentum and a game clearly well into development, Disney killed the project stone dead when they "restructured" which titles to prioritise at the time.
Tron: Legacy's post-game DLC was highlighted as worth canning Armada for - only when that game didn't sell, Disney wiped their hands of the whole thing, shutting Propaganda down altogether.
