1. Final Fantasy III and VIII Are Set In The Same World

Alright, enough Final Fantasy theories, I get it, but this one is truly compelling; it suggests that Final Fantasy VIII is set a few hundred years after Final Fantasy III. To begin with, the world maps are fairly similar, and though the topography is far from identical, the various magical events such as Lunar Cries that take place during these games could easily account for a land-shift when combined with the natural process. More convincing is the floating continent in FF3, and on the same geographical location in FF8 is a Deep Sea Research Center, suggesting that perhaps the floating continent fell from the sky and into the sea. Adding fuel to this is that Bahamut lived at this location in FF3, and similarly can be found there in FF8; coincidence? I think not. Oh, and maybe this is a bit of a reach, but on Ultimecia's clock tower, the hands point to III and VIII. Again, I think Square knew what they were doing with this one. It's almost
