5. Nolan North - First Celebrity Created By A Gaming Role
Earlier on Mark Hamill's entry was used to illustrate how well a celebrity can voice an already-established character, but what of someone so talented, relatable and damn-near loveable that they turn in a grade-A performance that lets video games stand toe-to-toe with the silver screen? Nolan North's embodiment of Drake elevated the entire medium, as audiences immediately recognised there was a blurring of lines going on between what a game character could be, represent and do whilst under your control. From there on in it was off to the races, and these days you'll still see North playing Drake alongside guys like Troy Baker, John DiMaggio, Keith David and more who are just as recognised for delivering fantastic performances in-game as they are on the stage or screen.
