9 Major Problems With Fallout Nobody Wants To Admit

3. Factions Have No Depth

Despite key factions turning up repeatedly throughout the Fallout series, very few of them are memorable. The Brotherhood of Steel is probably the most instantly recognisable group from the whole franchise, yet fans would be hard pressed to pick out a defining trait of theirs that isn't just "likes technology".

It's not just them either though, but the other factions from previous games like the Railroad, NCR and Enclave can also be summed up in about one sentence.

Groups and guilds in games like Skyrim and Oblivion don't have much depth to them either, but at least they're interesting and contribute to radically different missions and gameplay styles.

The factions you meet in Fallout however, are virtually just re-skins of one another, each with only slightly different goals and motivations. They all want you to accomplish the same kinds of things, and don't have anything valuable to offer that you couldn't just find on your own scavenging in the world.
