6. Energy Leash - BulletStorm
You'll find that most games which require you to simply point and shoot try and diversify with other weaponry to give the illusion of options - Call of Duty incorporated drone strikes and Battlefield had sequences in fighter jets. BulletStorm, the crude, violently ridiculous FPS delivers a fun secondary weapon branch in the form of the Energy Leash, which is neatly folded into the plot of the game along with the rewards system. This works rather nicely in tying together aspects that other games leave unresolved (although I suppose Sci-Fi games always have the excuse that a HUD is appearing on a characters visor [see Halo & Republic Commando). With the "Thumper" upgrade, this becomes one of the best weapons in the game, allowing you to blast enemies into the air in slow motion and then pick them off one by one, fairground style.
