Fans have been speculating for a while that Roach would return to the series since his debut in Modern Warfare 2.
After all, Ghost has been reintroduced with a revamped look despite originally appearing in the second installment of the series as well.
Seeing Roach and Ghost reunited again would surely bring a tear to many longtime Call of Duty fans' eyes. While he is a man of few words, Infinity Ward could easily rework his character similar to Soap's transformation between CoD4 and MW2.
Roach remains one of the more mysterious protagonists of any Call of Duty and could have some interesting new stories to tell.
It could be that the developers are saving at least one character for the eventual sequel so players may have to make do with the various Mil-Sims added to the game.
