4. Purrloin Is A Knock-off Of Glameow

Cats are amazing creatures. They are all quite similar but contain a vast majority of differences making them the perfect animal to base Pokémon designs on. Glameow was the first cat-like Pokémon to break away from the archetypal Normal-type and explore it's Dark side. Unfortunately, this amazing and gorgeous creature evolves into Purugly - an abomination at best. What were they thinking? Well, apparently they felt they got it wrong the first time around as well as they introduced Purrloin one generation later. The two do have quite a few distinctions from one another but both are based on the witch's familiar - a companion cat to a witch often being constructed through magical means or as a literal manifestation of the witches soul. Unlike Glameow, Purrloin evolves into something worth keeping - a Liepard which is somewhat reminiscent of a Persian. The main problem with Purrloin is that it's a Dark-type. If Pokémon wants to keep using the same species for their designs the least they could do is change it up a bit with each generation including offering a new - and more original - type to accompany the Pokémon.
