9 Reasons This Console Generation Will Be Dominated By PC
6. Deals, Deals, Deals
If you're a gamer, even a console gamer, you've probably heard of Steam sales. One benefit of being a PC gamer is that games often go on sale, with Steam's Summer and Winter Sales being the most (in)famous for their large discounts. By keeping up with several stores, such as Greenman Gaming, Steam, Good Old Games, and Amazon, anyone can get good deals before, during, and long after a game launches on PC, whether you digitally download or buy on a disc to avoid bandwidth caps. It's also easy to find graphics cards that come with Steam keys for PC games, which is a great way to get games for "free" or make some easy money if you don't care for any of the games. But the deals don't end there. Parts for a PC tend to be really expensive it's why gaming PCs tend to be around the $750-$1000 range. But like PC games, shopping around is the key to getting the best deals. Sometimes smaller stores you don't hear about outside of PC gamer circles, like Microcenter, have great deals on key parts, like processors and motherboards. Even better are bundles that include all the basic parts, which usually shave a hefty amount off the cost. Add in some rebates and some coupons, and you'd be surprised how cheap PC parts can be.
