9 Secret Video Game Bosses You Need To Beat Before You Die
5. Karstaag - Skyrim
Perhaps because they're not focused entirely on combat, The Elder Scrolls games aren't full of that many tough-to-kill bosses. Especially because players could theoretically be anywhere from level 5 to level 50 by the time they get to an enemy, the developers ensure that any character build has a fighting chance.
While that made the climax of Skyrim's main quest and the battle against Alduin a brief, underwhelming fight if you had prioritised the side content, Bethesda did include one secret challenge to satiate the masochists looking for punishment.
Found at the end of an unmarked quest, the mythical frost giant Karstaag's pure blunt-force power and constant area-of-effect damage makes taking him out quickly a priority.
As a frost giant you might think "well his weakness must be fire", but while fire weapons do inflict slightly more damage, they only going to lengthen the time it takes for him to inevitably bash your skull in.
At least you get a cool reward if you do eventually get lucky and beat him (or, lets face it, cheese him), being able to summon the monster to inflict the same pain on your enemies that you suffered through.
