2. Final Fantasy VIII & IX Remakes Confirmed!

Okay, maybe if we all join hands and pray to a collective higher power, Final Fantasy VII's Remake will actually be completed.

Not be an incredible genre-defining masterwork like the original, but just... actually hit the finish line, and deliver a cogent story that pays off over 20 years-worth of hype.

Because right now, Square Enix are supremely quiet on what the overall plan for the Remake is, and with Tetsuya Nomura stepping back as creative director, it's onto co-director Naoki Hamaguchi to bring the ship in for a landing.

Issues regarding the remake using the original's ending as what is now the close of the opening area aside, Square Enix have said they're open to remakes of FF VIII or IX going forward.

2025 then, could be enough time after VII has wrapped up - and they've hopefully nailed the execution - to do it all over again.
