9 Video Games Nobody Wants To Admit Have Aged Terribly
5. Crash Bandicoot
One of gaming's grandfathers and one of the best platformers to grace the medium, Crash Bandicoot is absolutely terrible to play nowadays. The small snippet of gameplay in Uncharted 4 was enough to prove that the franchise was in dire need of revamping, and that the original game has melted over time.
The problem, like a lot of games on this list, stems from the controls being so incredibly outdated. The fixed camera in the game can often make it hard to judge the distance between jumps, and the game's fondness for front-facing perspectives means that it's hard to gauge how far you need to leap - a mechanic somewhat intrinsic of a platformer.
The game really lives and dies on that mechanic, and not being able to correctly jump really affects the rest of the game. The rest of Crash is solid, but the jumping mechanics are what really lets it down. A lot of the sections work really well, but the majority have cracked over time.
