3. The Badass Characters

There are a multitude of reasons of why Aliens is a great film, and one of the most important is its cast of believable and engaging characters. Whenever we're introduced individually to these marines, we are offered the initial insight that they're as hard as nails, and later that perception is completely turned on its head when they're forced to contend with the xenomorphs

In that hopeless situation we get to see who these characters really are, like Hudson's over-confidence switching to fear as the superiority he was so cocky about is completely extinguished in the face of the xenomorphs. It's this interesting and entertaining evolution of characters that is to be expected in Aliens: Colonial Marines.

It also helps that the colonial marines are quite simply cool, from the armor strapped to their chest and legs, superior tech to maximize their killing streak and personalities that would like nothing more than to wipe out the Xenos for the fun of it.
