The Good: SVR 2007 had immensely-improved graphics, which is always a nice touch. This was especially true for the create-a-wrestler option, as the experience had more detail and more realistic options and graphics.The game also had a significantly-improved feature for fighting in the crowd, which gave wild brawls more excitement to them. Like many of its predecessors, it still had the wacky gaming experience where a player could keep playing even after getting their entire body red.

The Bad: This game had drastically-altered controls that did away with the ‘arcade-style’ feel and speed of its predecessors. Switching the controls for striking and adding the analog stick into the grapple system really hurt the game’s flow and match speed.

It also had a significant reduction in wrestling move variety, especially submission holds. The addition of ‘Category 1 and Category 2’ wrestling features was especially unnecessary, because it limited what wrestlers could do (e.g. lower weight classes had more martial arts moves, which heavier wrestlers didn’t have access to).

Finally, the fame also contained several glitches and flaws, especially vis-à-vis hardcore matches. If one player was at the top of a ladder, it was possible for their opponent to grapple them immediately, even if they were at the base of the ladder and hadn’t yet climbed it.

All in all, it was a decent game, but fell short when compared to others in the series.
