1. You Can Import Content From Previous Animal Crossing Games Through The Switch's Phone App

The Nintendo Switch Online app has always been a point of contention among fans; Nintendo seemingly loves to place features that should be available in games themselves within the app. The same applies to New Horizons, as you’re going to need this for voice chat and text chat in game.

However, it appears there will also be an additional feature that actually sounds kinda good.

When you link the app to the game, you’ll be able to import designs you made from the 3DS titles New Leaf and Happy Home Designer. This is done by scanning the QR codes of that design with your phone. So if you’ve made some great designs in the past, you can bring them forward in time to this game through the app and apply them to things like clothing and furniture.

Speaking of linking games, it was also confirmed that New Horizons will also link with Animal Crossing Pocket Camp on mobile devices. Doing so will unlock rewards in Pocket Camp, though its not clear if New Horizons will also receive rewards.
