Anthem: 10 Things Bioware Must Deliver

5. Answers About The World

Anthem’s setting implies a safe haven human city protected by huge walls, with a wild land populated by monsters outside. Its heroes are Freelancers who venture beyond the walls to perform missions such as the missing persons rescue given in the gameplay footage. What Anthem needs to do is, explain how this situation came about.

Horizon Zero Dawn wove an entire game around parcelling out the truth on what happened to the world, who is responsible, and what hope remains to strive for.

For Anthem’s narrative to remain engaging, it needs to grant players answers, especially since the setting implies that the world outside the wall has been abandoned for a long time. Exploring the events of the distant past, along with dealing with the tribulations of the present world, could help make for an engaging story that keeps players hyped about Anthem long after release.
