Anthem: 10 Things Bioware Must Deliver
4. Inbuilt Social Tools
Gameplay suggests a strong teamwork element, with groups of friends banding together to take on the world. If this is the case, Anthem needs inbuilt social tools to make finding, joining and playing with friends as easy as possible.
With games increasingly fulfilling gamers’ social needs, and console makers trying to integrate players’ entire gaming experience into one box, those players will demand Anthem makes playing with friends accessible from the start.
The reliance on separate forums and guild-making websites doesn't cut it any more. Developers can’t rely on voice and text chat to satisfy players’ demands for a social side to their gameplay.
If Anthem is to really succeed, inbuilt tools to help players get their team on would go a long way. A guild system, group-finding tool and integrated chat would be just the start of a system that gets players into Anthem's social side.
