Assassin's Creed Odyssey - 10 Secrets & Locations You Must Find

8. Splinter Cell - Sam Fisher's Goggles

Also in present-day London is the Third Echelon night vision goggles from the Splinter Cell series of games. Or is it Fourth...?

While Layla Hassan isn't sure whether they are from the Third Echelon or the Fourth, the desert camo pattern suggests that they are from Splinter Cell Blacklist, the only game to include the Fourth Echelon.

These are a nod to the Splinter Cells games' protagonist Sam Fisher, who hasn't had a game since 2013 but remains one of Ubisoft's most popular characters in one of their most popular franchises.

Even though this seems like nothing more than a games designer's appreciation, fans of the Splinter Cell franchise seemed annoyed at the inclusion, feeling cheated with constant hints and teasers at their universe and characters, but with little news of a new game in the works.

Does this mean that Splinter Cell and Assassin's Creed occur in the same universe? Could we see some kind of Marvel Cinematic universe with crossovers galore between our favourite franchises? Who knows, but there could be more still to come from this little Easter Egg...
