Banjo-Kazooie: Ranking Every Level From Worst To Best
4. Freezeezy Peak
Rare did it, everyone: they managed to make an ice level that isn't terrible!
Freezeezy Peak is a great time all around, due in part to its wide difficulty range. For example, one Jiggy mission requires you to simply meet Wozza the Walrus as Walrus Banjo, while another asks you to Beak Bomb six Sir Slushes scattered across the stage.
The latter of these two missions can be a major pain in the neck (and not just for Kazooie) because the somewhat-unrefined flying controls make it difficult to aim at the small "X'es" on their hats. Despite this, the missions are all thoroughly entertaining.
But of course, every level has its imperfections. In Freezeezy Peak's case, it's that damned last step of the "Twinklies" Jiggy mission, where you have to fly Banjo through a small star on top of a holiday tree three times in under a minute. That one was just flat-out aggravating.
Back to the positives, though, this level's music is among the best in the game. This joyous jingle somehow manages to capture the spirit of the holiday season without being too overbearing. Epitomizing the feeling of walking through a winter wonderland, this level's theme song could also make a strong case for being the best "cold weather" themed music in gaming.
Goodness, there are a lot of potential "best ever's" in this game, aren't there?
