Batman: Arkham Knight - 10 Huge Things We Learned At E3
7. Gotham Looks Better (And Bigger) Than Ever
With each new instalment of the Arkham franchise developers Rocksteady have expanded the scope, from the gothic maze of Arkham Asylum the first time around, to opening up a hefty chunk ofY Gotham itself in Arkham City. Things were a little bit more constrained, if not any less impressive, when Warner Bros. Montréal stepped in for Arkham Origins, but it looks like the next gen technology is going to give us a fully realised, interactive Gotham City in Arkham Knight. The gameplay footage we've seen from E3 sees Batman able to explore the whole of the city, and not just on a ground level: there are skyscrapers to be scaled, underwater sections to dive into, and streets to screech around. For perhaps the first time in any medium, Gotham feels like a real city, with pedestrians and traffic, the distant blinking lights of apartment buildings, and helicopters patrolling the skies. We can't wait to visit.
