Trying to satisfy an overwhelmingly passionate comic fanbase is tantamount to convincing fire to stop being warm, but Rocksteady can try, and as much as they've laboured the point that the AK is a brand new character hellbent on taking down Batman for reasons unknown - the 'clone' or 'figment of his imagination' theories are definitely the most tantalising. Even the new trailer saw Scarecrow voice actor John Noble (the awesome doctor from Fringe) mention that the villains' combined goal is to break Batman psychologically, scaring him into a corner to expose him to the world as a fraud. And, as the Arkham Knight has only been seen as Scarecrow's right-hand man; could this mean he's a figment of Bruce's imagination all along? Probably not, but when theories range from this to even the most 'obvious' in someone like the resurrected ex-Robin Jason Todd or Bruce-imitating Hush, anything's up for grabs. There's probably not one given solution that would please everyone considering how popular it's going to be, but as long as it's not something like Bruce's long-lost brother who was taken in by a waiter named Alfie just to train all his life and now visit Gotham, we'll be fine.
