Batman: Arkham Knight - 10 Things Fans Demand

8. For Batman To Be Likeable

It might seem like a really strange point to make, but have a think back on Bats' actions in Arkham City. One minute he's chasing down the antidote for Joker's afflicted disease, the next he'd rather sacrifice Gotham's citizens in pursuit of getting with Talia (who to that point in the canon we've never even heard of), not to mention how he essentially flicks the middle digit at Robin halfway through the game and constantly talks to his support team like they're not worth his time. The Batman of Asylum wasn't such a quickfire self-assured A-hole in any respect, and it really helped you to care about his plight being stranded on Arkham island. That's not to mention huge crowd-pop moments when things like the Batcave were introduced, as they really made you glad to be playing as him afterwards, the reveal itself subverting expectations and making you realise just how well prepared he is for everything. So far it looks like Batman's taking it pretty rough following the events of both earlier games, but that shouldn't mean he reverts back to pushing away the people who are essentially keeping him alive - and he especially shouldn't treat Gotham's people as collateral damage for a personal flight of fancy.
