Batman: Arkham Trilogy - 15 Insanely Cool Easter Eggs You Totally Missed

2. Oracle's Injury

Game: Arkham Knight

The Detective Mode is an iconic part of the Arkham series, letting you see through walls, solve puzzles, and even track how nervous thugs were getting as Batman whittled down their numbers one by one. Detective Mode was also vital in helping players find secrets and Easter eggs, like the Clayface Joker who didn’t have a skeleton in Arkham City.

By the time Arkham Knight came around, fans looking for Easter eggs knew to look at pretty much everything in Detective Mode, including characters. Whilst most characters looked the same, viewing Oracle through Detective Mode let you see her broken spine - the reason she was confined to a wheelchair. Players got to see how this injury occurred in Knight, as a flashback shows the Joker shooting her at point blank range in a scene lifted directly from the pages of The Killing Joke, one of the most iconic Batman comics there is.

However, what a lot of fans might not know is that Oracle’s injury is accurately portrayed in the game. The x-ray you see using Detective Mode isn’t just a random cluster of vertebrae; it is a completely accurate representation of what a real person’s spine would look like if they had been shot like Oracle was. It might not seem like much of an Easter egg, but the fact Rocksteady took the time to add that into the game shows just how dedicated they were to making the Arkham games as authentic as possible.
