Batman: Arkham Trilogy - 15 Insanely Cool Easter Eggs You Totally Missed

11. Azrael's Early Appearance

Game: Arkham City

At the start of the game when you are playing as Bruce Wayne being led to the entrance of Arkham City, there’s so much going on it’s hard to really take it all in on one playthrough. Trying to process the huge reveal that Hugo Strange knows Wayne is Batman, listening to the dialogue of the thugs threatening you, having Jack Ryder in your ear - it’s easy to miss a couple of neat Easter eggs at the very start.

These include Black Mask trying to fight off several prison guards and Floyd Lawton, AKA Deadshot, commenting that Bruce Wayne is ‘on my list’.

However, there was one character introduction in this sequence that probably passed you by. One of the side missions involves trying to catch up to a mysterious hooded character who keeps leaving symbols across Arkham City. Eventually, you discover that this is Azrael, a member of the Order of St. Dumas, who has been ‘watching’ you throughout the game… including right at the start.

When walking through the line into Arkham City, if players looked up across the city skyline, they would have seen Azrael looking down from a distant rooftop. Even if players had noticed the mysterious figure, there's no way they would have known it was Azrael, who famously took Batman's place in the comic book storyline Knightfall after Bane broke his back.
