Battlefield V: 10 Radical Gameplay Changes You Totally Missed
7. 3D Spotting And Visual Recoil Are Out
Some of the biggest changes Battlefield V is making are actually rather subtle, including removing 3D spotting and visual recoil.
The former has been a staple of the franchise for years, with players having the ability to mark enemies with an icon that reveals their position to the rest of the team. DICE have constantly tried to make the feature fairer, so that players don't start blindly firing at an icon as soon as it pops up, making it so that it only appears when you physically have the enemy in your sights.
Going forward though, the icon will apparently be done away with altogether, with spotting still possible but being locked behind a more tactile system that stops players from shooting symbols rather than characters.
A change from visual recoil to actual recoil is also being implemented, but that's a little more complex. As it stands now, although guns shake when you fire them, where the bullets come from stays in the centre of the screen. In V though, the trajectory of the bullets will actually follow where the gun is aiming.
They're small changes, but they should make Battlefield V's gameplay far more immersive.
