Before GTA V: 10 Biggest 'WTF' Moments From GTA History

4. Base Jumping (San Andreas)

San Andreas is perhaps the most versatile game in the entire GTA franchise so far. There were so many things to do that weren€™t essential to the main game, so many levels and facets to the experience that added value outside the main story. Base Jumping was one such activity. Now, Base Jumping was included as a side-mission in the Ballad of Gay Tony; totally awesome, true enough, but that€™s not the particular WTF moment I€™m referring to.

San Andreas was the first game in which parachutes had been included, and as such it was the very first title to include the act of Base Jumping. You may have been directed to the extreme pursuit in San Andreas via a guide, a YouTube video or one of the later missions that utilises the parachute, but for those of us who accidentally stumbled across the tall buildings on which the extreme sport was possible, Base Jumping was probably one of the bigger WTF moments in the entire franchise.

Upon finding the €˜yellow arrow€™ entrance to a seemingly non-descript, non-mission related building, you enter, wondering what the hell is inside. Then you€™re transported to the roof, where you can€™t help but spot the floating, glowing parachute stationed feet away. €œWTF!? Is that a parachute!? Can I jump off this building?!€

Yes you can, my friend. And yes, you do. And it€™s f***ing awesome.
