6. Grand Theft Auto Chinatown Wars
Perhaps one of the more controversial GTA games in Rockstar's series, Chinatown Wars follows the usual GTA storyline, but with a heavy side focus on drug trafficking. The game was originally released for the Nintendo DS, followed by the PSP and finally portable iOS devices. The graphics are cartoonish and have a nostalgic feel to them, with a more comic-book style that also feels similar to Vice City, while the game takes place in GTA IV's interpretation of Liberty City. The game is fun, to put it simply. Players find themselves dealing and buying drugs at an obsessive rate, finding trends and the best places to make deals. Gunfights are entertaining, and driving is convenient and feels reminiscent of the older GTA games. Chinatown Wars in its entirety is a satisfying experience, but truly nothing incredibly memorable. The game seems to be more of a way of passing time than the average GTA game. As much as I loved Chinatown Wars, I found myself playing it almost exclusively while in the waiting room at the doctor's office or on the bus. Despite all of the additions, it did not have the classic Grand Theft Auto feel to it. Regardless, Chinatown Wars is another great GTA game - and I give Rockstar major props for their branching to portable game systems.
