Bloodborne: 10 Legitimate Complaints Fans Can't Ignore
4. Bosses Get Far Easier And Less Intimidating Later On
Consider this spoiler-territory. The standards for the bosses that get set from the beginning of the game are pretty high in Bloodborne; boss battles are heart-racing battles against huge monstrosities that can cut you down with a single blow. They’re so big and cool-looking that they look like they’ve been yanked from a death metal album cover.
Then, into the latter half of the game they become easier and less memorable.
Bloodborne suffers from Shadow of the Colossus syndrome; amidst the amazing bosses you’ll encounter, you’ll find some that miss the mark. Perfect example would be Micolash, a guy you fight much later on in the game; not a monster or a beast, a guy. Just some guy with a cage on his head (giving him the affectionate nickname online of “Micolas Cage”). His boss fight includes chasing him through some hallways, catching him then killing him; and apart from a handful of difficult-to-land spells he casts, he’s unarmed. Pathetic.
Without spoiling the latter half of the game, there is a clear dip in the difficulty curve once you get further on, which is pretty disappointing. Hopefully some additional DLC will come out to amp the difficulty back up.
