Bloodborne: 10 Legitimate Complaints Fans Can't Ignore
3. Lag Makes Co-op And PvP Very Difficult
Of course this'll forever be up for debate. When it comes to one-on-one matches, absolutely no-one in the world will ever be sympathetic if you’re lagging (or claim to be lagging). Whether you blame the host or blame whoever is downloading something in your house, the game lags frequently when you’re online.
Sure, lag is nothing new in video-games, and it is usually due to poor internet connection, often making it the players fault, but with Bloodborne the lag experienced by players in PvP and in co-op seems consistent enough for people to start complaining. More notable in fighting games, lag can put players at a major disadvantage, to the point where it becomes unplayable. Fighting a fellow online player wielding a giant hammer, who can seemingly teleport and time-travel, brings a degree of difficulty that not even FromSoftware would subject its audience to.
The lag makes fighting bosses an issue as well, because then it spreads to the boss itself. Now the bosses can teleport and time-travel. Even with the help of a co-op buddy, fighting that is a frustrating ordeal (unless you’re the host). Better matchmaking to stop low connection players from invading or the implementation of some sort of lag compensation would be appreciated, but for now there’s no guarantee that you’re going to have a fun time fighting others online.
