Borderlands: 10 Weirdest Quests You Won’t Believe

4. Transaction-Packed - Borderlands 3

In a fairly humorous parody of the bug-ridden early access games shunted out without proper quality control, "Transaction-Packed" in the third game of the series not only costs money to access but then throws up random paywalls throughout.

After speaking to Mickey to start the mission, you need to protect the idling Lana before buying an upgrade and destroying a portal. After this, you protect her again, buy the same upgrade again - and then protect her some more before destroying a second portal.

Following this, you essentially rinse and repeat. Protect, pay, destroy portal. If at any point you have the cheek to try and NOT pay for the upgrades, Mickey reacts with disbelief.

Towards the conclusion of the tiresome mission, you even get a "pay to win" prompt that you can choose to take to end the madness early.

Throughout the entire debacle, Lana is portrayed T-Posing, regardless of what she is doing, just to add another funny wrinkle to the whole affair.

Despite being firmly tongue-in-cheek, this mission is enjoyable craziness and a funny commentary on quality-control in Alpha versions of games and the unstoppable rise of micro-transactions that plague the world of gaming.
