LGMs were rendered almost totally irrelevant in the fast-paced advanced movement Call of Duty titles of years past, and wading through a match with a light machine gun used to be a recipe for disaster. Though the pace of the game hasn’t slowed much since Infinite Warfare drew the series’ wall-running era to a close, LMGs have become a bit more viable.

That said, the VKM 750 is still too clunky and sluggish to be effective in most multiplayer game modes, and fans of this weapon will frequently find themselves outmatched by swifter, more energy-efficient SMGs and ARs. Though it packs a major punch, the weapon’s snail-paced fire rate serves as yet another major hindrance.

Steadfast LMG users may be quick to defend this hulking thing, and the weapon’s operator mod does transform it into an imposing force, but players wielding the VKM 750 are usually going to find themselves outmaneuvered by a more agile enemy force.

Gone are the days of posting up behind some cover and reigning over the B flag with an M60 like in the original Black Ops title. In a game which emphasizes movement, stagnant LMG users are often left behind.
